Empty roads in Bongaigaon due to the 24 hour Assam bandh called in by AKRSU on Monday

A 24 hour Assam bandh called in by All Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union (AKRSU) has crippled normal life in several parts of the state. Various protestors burned tires in the middle of the streets and blocked vehicles plying on the road.

Some of the most affected areas due to the bandh are Bongaigaon, Chirang, Dhupdhara, Morigaon, Darrangiri, Rangjuli and Goalpara.

The AKRSU called in the 24 hour Assam bandh in demand of their inclusion in the list of Schedule Tribes (ST) community and a separate state Kamatapur.
