India’s close neighbour Bangladesh has shockingly replaced Pakistan in production and circulation of fake Indian currencies in to the country via unscrupulous ways.
After demonetization, Bangladesh have arisen as a main source for manufacturing and smuggling of fake Rs 2,000 notes. This was suggested by official data of seizures by the Border Security Force (BSF).
Beforehand, fake Indian currencies that were made in Pakistan and Bangladesh was smuggled through 13 border states of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Gujarat, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Assam and Meghalaya.
However now, 11 frontiers have witnessed almost a null in the seizure of fake notes, known formally as FICN (Fake Indian Currency Notes). The only two frontiers that are functioning are in Assam and West Bengal and have seen a heavy rise since January 2017.
