Voting in currently underway in South Tura constituency in Meghalaya which is billed as the ‘vote to regularized the post of CM’ . After Agatha Sangma sister of Conrad Sangma sacrificed her seat to accommodate Conrad who is also the current CM of Meghalaya, who also needs to be elected with six months from the date of appointment.

South Tura election holds an immense importance as  it will decide whether Conrad Sangma will continue to serve as the CM of Meghalaya.

A total of four contestant are competing against each other for the coveted seat which includes Conrad Sangma, Charlotte W Momin (Congress candidate), John Leslee K Sangma, and Kris Kabul Sangma (former South Tura MLA and independent candidate).
